abstract = "Artificial vision or computer vision may be defined as the Field
that studies the methods used by an artificial system to perceive
the information contained in a certain image. Neural networks, due
to their ability to extract information from complex sets of data,
have been largely applied in computer vision for pattern
recognition and pattern classification. This article presents an
intelligent classifier based on neural networks. The complete
image recognition/classification system (pre-processor +
classifier) is invariant to translation, rotation and sizing of
the analysed object. The systems structure is quite flexible,
allowing it to be applied to virtually any set of bidimensional
images.",
